The Law Offices of Christian Vinaa primarily handles "litigation", but generally we offer assistance to all foreigners with legal problems in Denmark.

We do not offer help with legal problems outside Denmark, or regarding non-Danish law.

Please feel free to contact us if you need legal representation in Denmark.

We offer legal assistance to plaintiffs and defendants in all civil cases, and to defendants in criminal cases.

In civil cases, you might be eligible for free legal aid or insurance-covered legal aid.

In criminal cases, you can ask for a court-appointed lawyer.

How to get legal representation

Please feel free to tell the court that you would like Mr. Christian Vinaa, Attorney-at-Law, to be appointed your lawyer.

In criminal cases, you should write to the Police, or to the court, or both :

English :
"I hereby request that Mr. Christian Vinaa, Attorney-at-Law, Høeghsmindevej 21, 2820 Gentofte, be appointed as my defense lawyer."

Danish :
"Jeg anmoder om, at advokat Christian Vinaa, Høeghsmindevej 21, 2820 Gentofte, bliver beskikket som min forsvarer."

In civil cases, it is important that you contact me as soon as possible; especially if you are the defendant, and if you have received a letter from the court.

The court will typically set a date by which you must reply, in order not to lose the case by default. Therefore, it is important that you contact me as soon as possible.

You should also send a letter, fax, or email message to the court :

English :
"I have asked Christian Vinaa, Attorney-at-Law, Høeghsmindevej 21, 2820 Gentofte, to handle my case. I have also asked Mr.Vinaa to apply for free legal aid or insurance-covered legal aid."

Danish :
"Jeg har anmodet advokat Christian Vinaa, Høeghsmindevej 21, 2820 Gentofte, om at tage sig af min sag. Jeg har bedt advokat Christian Vinaa om tillige at søge fri proces og / eller forsikringsretshjælp til min sag."

Interpreter

Whether in a civil case, or in a criminal case, if you don't speak or understand Danish, you have the right to the presence of an authorized interpreter in the court. It's very important that you fully understand what is being said in the court room. So, generally, its a very bad idea to waive your right to an interpreter unless you are fluent in Danish. In criminal cases, the Danish Government pays for the interpreter. In civil cases, free legal aid or insurance-covered legal aid covers the expense.

For consultations with Christian Vinaa, Attorney-at-Law, an authorized interpreter is not needed. A family member or a trusted friend will be satisfactory.

The Law Offices of Christian Vinaa are 100 % independent. We have no affiliation with the Danish Government, the Police, the District Attorney's Office, the courts, banks, insurance companies, etc.

The Law Offices of Christian Vinaa offer 100 % legal confidentiality. We are required to do so by law. We do not give any information regarding you, your address, phone number, or your case to anyone; not even your family. We don't even confirm or deny that you are our client.
